And now it's time to transfer contacts to your Android

Android is a popular platform which is growing very quickly. You need an Android phone version 2.2 (Froyo and higer e.q. 2.2.1, 2.2.2), 2.3 (Gingerbread and higher e.g. 2.3.2, 2.3.3, 2.3.4, 2.3.5, 2.3.6, 2.3.7), 3.0.1 (Honeycomb and higher e.q. 3.1, 3.2, 3.2.1), 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwitch and higher 4.0.1, 4.0.2, 4.0.3), 4.1, 4.2 or 4.3 (Jelly Bean) and 4.4 (KitKat), including tablets. Let us just remind you, that for now PhoneCopy for Android only transfers contacts and SMS.

First, download PhoneCopy for Android to your phone. It's free. Install it and then follow these steps.

Press the button to synchronize Choose Create new account

Type your Phonecopy username and password. If you do not have any contacts in your Android phone yet, you can choose "Server >> this device" synchronization direction. If unsure, it's always safe to choose "Combine both".

fill in your username and password. Choose synchronization direction

Now you can start the first synchronization. You will see a red button "Agree and continue", what you presss . Now, you see the synchronization.

Some additional tips

Just as a reminder, the contacts are carried via your mobile phone service provider, so you need to have data transfers activated for the service to work. If you you don't have a special data scheme, your carrier will charge you additional fees (during our testing, ca 500 contacts cost approximately 1,5 USD for all the data carried during a full syncronization, service provided by O2). Contact can be then transferred to another device eg. iPhone, other Nokia, SonyEricsson, Samsung, LG etc). You can edit your contacts in your online account. PhoneCopy is often used as a ultimate backup service, should you loose your phone or the stored data, or if you just run out of battery and you need to see your contacts online. Also, on your online account, you will see full history of your contacts, as well as the data that you've deleted in between the synchronizations. You can find them in an archvie from where you can restore them. And if this is still not enough of a backup for you, you can download a .CSV file, that you can store in your computer.

The whole backup, including the settings, can be done in several minutes and the service is completely free.
